Samsung launched the Galaxy Grand Prime 4G in India on Monday. The phone, which was earlier said to be released in March, is now available at Rs 11,100. The company says with the launch of the Galaxy Grand Prime 4G in India, Samsung now has 14 4G LTE-capable models in the country.
The dual-SIM (Micro-SIM) Galaxy Grand Prime 4G is nearly identical to the 3G variant of the smartphone, which was launched back in September last year, except it includes 4G LTE connectivity.
The phone supports both Band 3 and Band 40, which means it is compatible with 4G networks being deployed in India right now. It also runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box, instead of Android 4.4 KitKat.
The Galaxy Grand Prime 4G packs a 5-inch qHD (540x960 pixels) PLS TFT display. The smartphone features a 1.2GHz quad-core (unknown chipset) processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. It features an 8-megapxiel rear camera with LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front camera with a 85-degree wide-angle lens.
The Galaxy Grand Prime includes 8GB of internal storage with microSD card support (up to 64GB). On the connectivity front, the smartphone includes Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS, GLONASS and 3G.
The smartphone features a 2600mAh battery that's rated to deliver up to 14 hours of talk time. It measures 144.8x72.1x8.6mm and weighs 156 grams.It will be available in White, Grey, and Gold colour variants.
