Still from 'Paayum Puli'

In this regard, Shoba Rani, a popular face when it comes to distributing dubbing films in Telugu, has reportedly snatched the Telugu dubbing rights of Tamil superstar Vijay-starrer ‘Puli’ for Rs 8 crore. This is the highest price for a Vijay’s film till date.

Earlier, Shoba successfully distributed Vijay’s ‘Thuppaki’ in Telugu. When contacted, Shoba remained unavailable for a comment. Meanwhile, the Nizam and AP distribution rights of Vishal-starrer Tamil flick ‘Paayum Puli’ were bought by Nageswara Reddy and Kadapa Narasimha for 3.6 crore.

A source close to the development says, “Besides the pull of Vishal and Kajal, the film is carrying a positive buzz. Moreover it is being helmed by Suseenthiran who made ‘Naa Peru Shiva’ earlier, prompting Reddy and Narasimha to spend big money for the rights.”
