Eluru: West Godavari District police are on a man-hunt to nab an unknown psychopath as 40 teams are deployed to catch the culprit. This is the biggest man-hunt in the history of West Godavari as police are using a big force to nab a person.

District Superintendent of Police Bhaskar Bhushan told reporters at district police office here on Thursday evening that mobile teams and mufti police teams are part of the teams formed to nab the culprit. He said that 15 Check posts have been opened in the district to catch him.

It may be recalled that an unknown person attacked girls and women in different places of the district and administered injections to 13 girls and women. Police had taken one youth into their custody at Mogalturu village, but released him later, as he is no way connected to the serial incidents.

The miscreant left the Narsapur Division and entered into National Highway on Wednesday and injected a woman at Nallajerla.With the latest incident, the police took the case as a challenge and deployed forces to nab the miscreant. The Police officials opined that he may be a psychopath.

Bhaskar Bhushan stated that so far the miscreant was involved in 13 injection incidents under Palacole, Veeravasaram, Penugonda, Undi and Anantapalli police station limits. The SP said that two needles have been seized so far and there was no poisonous liquid or
bacteria found on the needles.

The SP urged the public not to be panic about the needle incidents, as there is no danger ith them. He said an image of the miscreant is being drawn and be released soon. He requested the public to call 94407-96000 mobile number or 100 control room if any suspicious person found in their areas. Additional SP Chandrasekhar and other officials participated in the press conference.
