Hyderabad: The entry of unauthorised persons into AP Assembly premises is causing concern for the security personnel. Senior officials from the police on Sunday told Speaker K Sivaprasada Rao and Chairman of the Legislative Council A Chakrapani that the legislators were bringing their personal assistants and personal secretaries into the premises without valid passes.

Responding to concern of police, the presiding officers said that the security personnel can check the vehicles of MLAs but at the same time they should show due courtesy to the members. The Police also expressed concern that the assembly secretariat was issuing vehicle passes without mentioning the vehicle numbers and the name of the member.

Embedding hologram on passes was proposed and it was also decided to introduce differently coloured passes for people of different categories to enter the assembly premises during the session.

The issue of media personnel moving around to meet the ministers, members also figured during the discussion. State DGP J V Ramudu and other senior officials were present at the meet.

In another meeting held with State Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao, the speaker directed the officials to ensure that the information pertaining to the starred and un-starred questions should reach in time.

The council chairman suggested that one person in each department be designated to coordinate with the work of providing information to the questions raised by the MLAs and MLCs. Sending questions and replies in digital form also was discussed in the meet.
