In addition, movies of different genres were screened at the fest amongst which, a short film ‘Soonyam’, by Vinod Anantoju, received tremendous applause. “The movie discusses the ‘collective loneliness’ that has been increasing day-by-day,” says Vinod. “People spend time with each other, either as roommates or colleagues for years; yet do not really know each other. This is the theme of the movie,” he said.

“Capitalistic influence resulted in the idea of consumerist thinking in everyone; that is the main reason behind this collective loneliness,” stated Vinod.
