Hyderabad: On receiving inputs from the Intelligence agencies on the possibility of attacks by the terrorists through airspace, Commissioner CV Anand on Tuesday ordered for prohibition of the use of drones in the commissionerate limits without permission.

The Intelligence agencies alerted about the possibility of anti-social elements through para-gliders, remote-controlled drones, micro-light planes, remote-controlled planes and other means in Cyberabad, the commissioner said.

Further, CV Anand said that the police learnt that in many musical concerts, film functions and various other events, drones were being used extensively to capture the aerial view of the events without obtaining prior permission from the police.

“There is a need to keep a check on the anti-social activities of terrorists and prevent drone attacks. No flying activity in the Indian Civil Airspace of Cyberabad is allowed without permission. The violators will be prosecuted,” the Commissioner said.
