8th International Poetry Festival today

For over eight years the unassuming couple Gopichand and Nagasuseela has been organising International Poetry Fests as they believe that poetry reflects the joys and sorrows of people and the society.

Their life was like one long poem, unsung, despite their personal sacrifices made on the financial and family front to promote literature and poetry. So far around 1000 poets and about 2020 poems came out though their poetry festival and contributed to the body of the World Poetry.

Noted poets from all over India and abroad have specially contributed their poems to this year’s Poetry Fest, writing on the themes like ‘World Peace’, ‘Environmental Issues’, ‘Human Values’ and ‘Women’s Issues’.

A galaxy of writers from across the country and abroad will be descending at the venue of the poetry festival on Monday at JKC College. Speaking about the event, organisers P Gopichand and P Nagasuseela, said, "Poetry contains finest feelings in beautiful words.

For the loss of human values, crumbling peace among states and nations, raising natural calamities and the yells of pain and suffering from humanity will be portrayed in true colours by the masters of words and images.”

Gopichand and Nagasuseela’s trysts with poems, poets and authors who met a galaxy of their fraternity worldwide always runs against time attending to their daily chores as teachers at JKC College as well as their indulgence in multiple socio-literary activities organising literary meets and workshops.

The organisers believe that like the ever changing world, poetry transformed a lot; many poets in India and abroad treasure their ideas in different forms of poetry. They are inspiring young minds and souls throughout the world.

Prominent poets this year Dr HLA Agnihotri from Punjab, Dr Pornpen Hantrakool from Thailand, Prof Fank Joussen from Germany, Prof Biplab Chakraborty from Kolkata, Editors like Dr Cl Khatri (CyberNet) from Patna, Prof KV Domnic (Writers Guild) from Kerala, MS Venkatramaiah (Bizz Buzz) from Bengaluru, Dr Kedarnath Sharma from Gurgoem, Dr Papiya Lahiri from Jaipur, Dr Poonam Sahay from Ranchi, Dr Anuradha Bhattacharya from Chandigarh, Dr Padmaja Iyengar from Hyderabad, Sreeja Nair from Calicut, Dr Balachandran from Chennai, Dr Dibyendu Ghosal from Noida, Dr Dalvir Singh from Delhi are some of the prominent poets attending the fest this year.
