Vysyas express ire at Mudra ad
The Vysya community is up in arms over the use of derogatory words in the advertisement pertaining to Pradhan Mantri Mudra Bank which is aimed at benefiting small entrepreneurs and also act as a regulator for Micro-Finance Institutions (MFIs).

Hyderabad: The Vysya community is up in arms over the use of derogatory words in the advertisement pertaining to Pradhan Mantri Mudra Bank which is aimed at benefiting small entrepreneurs and also act as a regulator for Micro-Finance Institutions (MFIs).
What has upset them, according to Paluri Suresh, past president of Arya Vysya Club, Secunderabad, is that in the advertisement the father of the child who gets loan from Pradhan Mantri Mudra Bank (PMMB) to own a tempo says, “Chala Santosham Babu.
Naa Jeetam anta aa Komatodi ki Vaddi kattadanike saripoyindi.” (I am very happy that you got a loan from PMMB. My entire salary used to go towards paying interest to that Baniya.”
Suresh said the use of the word ‘Komati’ is demeaning and an insult to the entire Vysya community.Following this, the Arya Vysya Club and other organisations like Vasavi Club, etc., have decided to launch strong protest against the Centre.
They released the audio clips to all Vysya organisations and asked them to carefully hear the clip and submit memorandum opposing the offensive language used in the advertisement to all the district collectors and the MROs across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The memorandum would condemn the offensive language and would demand that the insulting word should be removed from the advertisement and that the Central government should apologise to the Vysya community.
Meanwhile, the Vasavi club representatives called on state BJP president G Kishen reddy and submitted a memorandum to him demanding withdrawal of the objectionable words and an apology from the Centre.
Kishen Reddy, while apologising on the issue, said he would see that action against the person who translated the advertisement was taken. However, Suresh told The Hans India that they would not give up their agitation till corrective measures were taken.
