Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that Amaravati capital city should be developed as environmental-friendly green city between Krishna river and Kondaveetivagu besides reflecting our rich culture and history.

Addressing a review meeting of CRDA officials at camp office, here on Saturday, the CM said that the place where Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to lay foundation stone should be developed as favoured tourist destination.

He said the capital, should be developed with nine themes- tourism, health, electronics, knowledge, education, justice, culture, sports and finance-with world class technology.

He said tourism should be developed at a stretch of 18 km along Kondaveetivagu and reservoir and reminded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s suggestion that officials who are designing the capital should visit five important cities in the world.

Whereas, the foundation site should be developed on par with India Gate, Gateway of India and Charminar, he added. Chief Minister said that the capital should reflect our culture and history and roads should be developed to prevent traffic congestion in future.

The officials of School of Planning and Architecture shared their suggestions on the master plan presented by consultants. Minister P Narayana and CRDA Commissioner N Srikanth were present.
