Hyderabad: Speculation is rife that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao would reshuffle his Cabinet either on October 10 a day after the monsoon session of the Assembly ends or immediately after Dasara festival. While this is sending jitters among the ministers, it is now nerve racking suspense for quite a few aspirants, who have been waiting in the wings for a berth in the council of ministers.

This reshuffle will see the first woman minister in the Cabinet according to sources close to top TRS leaders. Sources say that the reshuffle has become necessary as of late, there has been a speculation ever since the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) hinted his dissatisfaction over the functioning of some ministers and the embarrassing debate over the continuance of Talasani Srinivas Yadav, who technically belongs to Telugu Desam, in the Cabinet.

The four-hour long meeting KCR had with Governor on Friday further fuelled this speculation. It is being said that Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Tribal Welfare Minister Ajmeera Chandulal, T Padma Rao and Jogu Ramanna may be replaced Government Whip K Eshwar, Ravinder Reddy and Konda Surehka may get berths.

Nayani is likely to be assigned the responsibility of party work. The Chief Minister is said to be unhappy with Minister for Tourism and Culture Azmeera Chandulal because of his poor performance. He has also been suffering from health problems. Excise Minister T Padma Rao may have go because of the cheap liquor fiasco. The TRS Government, which has been facing widespread criticism for want of woman representation in the Cabinet is likely to induct Warangal East MLA Konda Surekha or her Asifabad counterpart Kova Laxmi, party sources say.

Konda Surekha has the advantage of clinching the post if Chandulal, who also belongs to Warangal district, is shown the door. With Warangal MP and Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation elections around the corner, the TRS also wants a potential leader who could maneuver its forces against the likes of Telugu Desam Party Floor Leader in the House Errabelli Dayakar Rao, who had become a thorn in the flesh of TRS. Warangal West MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar, who reportedly had the support of KT Rama Rao, is another possible candidate. Dharmapuri MLA (SC) Koppula Eshwar is also in the race.
