KCR ADVISES AP CM TO CONSTRUCT CAPITAL ON BANKS OF RIVER

Hyderabad: In its attempt to make the foundation ceremony of Amaravati a gala affair, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has prepared a long list of VVIP invitees.

Andhra Pradesh is keen on inviting Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to be part of the celebrations. The letter of invitation from the CMO would soon be sent to KCR after which Naidu will call up KCR to invite him.

Though Naidu will also be inviting all other Chief Ministers extend- ing an invitation to KCR assumes importance since both had not been seeing eye to eye ever since the cash for vote and phonetapping incident soared the relations between the two.

KCR had advised Naidu at Begumpet airport in the presence of Governor ESL Narasimhan when they had gone to receive President Pranab Mukherjee to construct the capital city on the banks of a river as it would augur well for the state.

It now remains to be seen if KCR would attend the function or not. The Andhra Pradesh government also proposes to invite the leader of opposition in state Assembly Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, who is now on a Deeksha demand- ing special status category.

YSRCP sources said that they have not yet received any invitation and would decide if the state government invites their leader in a proper manner.

Jagan did not attend the foundation stone laying ceremony for the new capital on the pretext that the government did not follow proper protocol.

The other top VVIPS listed by the AP government include All India Congress Committee (AICC) presi- dent Sonia Gandhi, BJP pa- triarch L K Advani, Ratan Tata, Indra Nooyi, Satya Nadella and Chanda Kochhar.

At the same time, Naidu has asked officials to ensure that leaders of all political parties in the state, MLAs and MLCs are also invited.

The committee headed by Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P Narayana and a team of officials drafted from different departments have been entrusted with the job of sending the invi- tations.

Towards the end of the week, Naidu would call on President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chairman Rajya Sabha Mohd Hameed Ansari and Speaker of Lok Sabha Sumitra Mahajan to invite them in person.
