Students asked to conserve water resources. The Civil Engineering students of the Chirala Engineering College were asked to conserve water sources and adapt technologies to reuse the polluted water, in a guest lecture by the member of AP Pollution Control Board, on Friday.

The Civil Engineering students of the Chirala Engineering College were asked to conserve water sources and adapt technologies to reuse the polluted water, in a guest lecture by the member of AP Pollution Control Board, on Friday.

Dr. S. Rama Krishna Rao, retired professor of Andhra University and member of AP Pollution Control Board visited Chirala Engineering College and explained the technological methods of purifying polluted water. He lectured the students and staff of the department about utilization of water resources, conservation and reuse techniques to make best use of the available water in drought hit areas.

He explained the methods that the pollution control board is practising now to estimate the water pollution levels in villages, industrial areas and urban bodies. The professor asked the students to promote the need of water conservation by taking up rallies and conducting awareness camps in the villages surrounding Chirala as part of the NSS activities.

He made the students and staff to take an oath towards conservation of water and use recycled water for other purposes in the house and college. The college principal Dr. V. Ranga Rao, PG College principal Dr. CV Brahmachari, HODs of Civil, Mechanical and NSS program officer attended the guest lecture and took pledge to save water.
