Hyderabad: In a splendid demonstration of what composed application can do, Rohan Prem added another 102 runs to his overnight score with adequate help coming from the lower middle-order. Kerala ended the day in a happier mood after the second day’s play of the Group ‘C’ Ranji Trophy championship match against Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium here on Friday.

The home team began their first innings on a disastrous note losing an early wicket and going to stumps at 40 for one. Rohan Prem’s mammoth effort came to end after he was in the middle for almost 592 minutes playing 452 balls and scoring 19 fours and three sixes.

It has been brave effort by the visitors as they scored substantially by going for the loose shots and staying cautious when required even as the bowlers toiled hard but could not finish off the tail early. Akash Bhandari, who finished with five for 72 , was far the most economical among the bowlers.

Brief scores-Day 2: Kerala 401 (Rohan Prem 208, Raiphi Vincent Gomez 41, SK Mohnish 37, Fabid Farooq Ahmed 37no, Akash Bhandari 5/72, Mehdi Hasan 3/97, Vishal Sharma 2/122) vs Hyderabad 40 for 1 in 19 overs.
