The shipment of nuclear reactor for the II phase of Kudankulam NPP will start in 2017, announced CEO of AEM-Technologies, Igor Kotov. “Supply contract is signed, we have already received the advance payment”, he said.
According to Igor Kotov, AEM-technologies will produce a set of steam generators for the 3d power unit of Kudankulam NPP and the reactor vessel will be manufactured by “Izhorskie Zavody” (IZHZ). A set of steam generators and the reactor vessel for the 4th unit will be produced by AEM-Technologies.

AEM-Technologies Company was created in 2007 as a branch of Atomenergomash. This engineering company also produces equipment for nuclear industry, thermal power and gas and oil chemistry.

Atomenergomash, being a part of SC Rosatom, was created in 2006 in order to diversificate the Russian market of nuclear engineering and machinery construction.

The first power unit of Kudankulam NPP was put into operation at midnight on December 31, 2014. The 2d unit’s construction has already been completed; the engineering set-up is carried out. It’s planned to commission the 2dpower unit in December 2015.

In April Russia and India signed the general framework agreement on construction of the second phase of Kudankulam NPP including the 3d and the 4th power units.

The Road map on Russia’s and India’s cooperation in nuclear power envisages construction of 15 power units in India including those at Kudankulam site (from 4 to 8 power units).
