Madhu Priya and Srikanth were in a relationship for a couple of years, but Madhu's family members had objected to their marriage.
As she turned an adult just a month ago, her parents told her to concentrate on her career. But the budding singer refused to pay heed. Instead she chose to marry her lover immediately.
Madhu Priya approached the police stating she is a major and has all the rights to get married to her boy friend.
It is learnt that even the police tried to counselling both the couple's family members, but Madhu's family members refused and left from the police station.
The folk singer married Srikanth in the presence of friends and other family members.
