After the post mortem was conducted on the bodies at the MGM Hospital, the police handed over the bodies to Sarika’s family. Sarika’s family members decided to perform the last rites in Warangal only. With the help of local Vishwabrahmana Sangham leaders, the last rites were completed at Pothana Smashanavatika in the evening.

Sarika’s mother Lalitha, her sister Archana and a few family members were present. Gali Vindod Kumar, Left parties candidate for Warangal byelection, was also present.

Meanwhile, the police are still examining the evidences to find out whether the deaths were caused by accidental fire or deliberate act to kill Sarika and her children.

According to Police Commissioner G Sudheer Babu, several aspects should be examined before determining the cause of fire. The police are still questioning Rajaiah, his wife and his son.

Mahajana Socialist Party leader Manda Krishna Madiga, women’s rights activists and Vishwabrahmana Sangham leaders demanded impartial investigation into the incident.

It may be recalled that a massive fire had erupted in the first floor of Rajaiah’ house in the early hours of Wednesday. Sarika and her three sons were charred to death beyond recognition. The House is located at Revenue Colony in Hanamkonda.

Sarika had some marital disputes with her husband and accused him and his parents Rajaiah and Madhavi of harassing her. She had even lodged a complaint with the police some time ago. She staged a protest demonstration in front of Rajaiah’s house in the past.

She had accused her husband of having extra marital relations and neglecting her. She accused his parents of trying to drive her away along with kids.

Theirs’ was a love marriage that took place in 2001 and after Rajaiah became MP, his son Anil Kumar left his job and took to lavish lifestyle ignoring his family, she had alleged. Sarika was also forced to give up her job and settle in Hanamkonda with kids.
