expected to win the Warangal LS bye-election, it did not predict such a poor performance either.
On record, the party floor leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao claimed that the ruling party had used all possible tactics like money power, muscle power and even resorted to threats to Panchayat presidents etc. He added that the TDP would have perhaps fared better had it contested the seat instead of leaving it to the BJP.
The party leaders also feel that there was no proper co-ordination and serious efforts made to see that the TDP votes get
transferred to the BJP candidate. The delay in finalising the candidate had also resulted in loss of time for campaign. Moreover, they had also not done enough homework in regard to style of campaign, the leader felt.
Against this backdrop, party chief N Chandrababu Naidu has convened a meeting of TTDP leaders to discuss and prepare an action plan for the GHMC
elections. The party leadership feels that if it fails to establish its strength in GHMC polls, then its political future would be at stake in the Telangana State.
Naidu is said to have called the TTDP president L Ramana over phone and asked him to prepare a detailed report on the reasons for the dismal performance in the elections.
