Active Learning, a unique way to teach

Understanding the students and teachers’ woes Cambridge University Press has bought forward a unique way of teaching technique called ‘Active Learning’, which keeps the student involved and interesting throughout the class. Workshops will be conducted in six cities across the country, Hyderabad being one among them.

Teaching has become tougher than before, with a lot of online material and videos which is readily available for students. This has made many teachers to opt for different and interesting strategies to make students learn the subject in a fun way.

Understanding the students and teachers’ woes Cambridge University Press has bought forward a unique way of teaching technique called ‘Active Learning’, which keeps the student involved and interesting throughout the class. Workshops will be conducted in six cities across the country, Hyderabad being one among them.

“Active learning is an interactive way which makes the students education experience positive”, said Simon Lind, professional development manager, Cambridge University Press International Education in an interactive session with teachers from various International schools around Hyderabad.

The event saw the participation of more than 50 teachers from 16 schools that are affiliated with Cambridge University Press. Where Simon have put out multiple techniques to keep children excited while learning tough concepts of math, science and languages.

“The main aim of the programme is to improve the teacher and student bonding which will help the students in understanding subject better which secure them good standards”, says Krishna, National Sales Manager forCambridge University Press International Education India.

“It is a complete fool proof plan, I teach my students through active learning process which has made them more subject friendly”, explained Simon. Teachers participated in the programme have gained a wide knowledge on active learning with certification from Cambridge University Press.

“It has been a wonderful experience, we teachers always look forward to make the classroom sessions interesting and this programme has made our work little easier by explaining us the major student involvement techniques and it was also fun”, said Avantika, one of the participants.

“Keeping students entertained and interested in the learning process is little hard and to have a better relationship with students it is always better to reach out to them through such techniques”, said Shilpa, another participant from the programme.
