A new war is on between Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Governor ESL Narasimhan over appointment of the state election commissioner.
The AP CM has recommended IAS officer and former chairman of AP Public Service Commission Chittaranjan Das Biswal for the next state election commissioner and the file has been sent to governor ESL Narasimhan.
But the Raj Bhavan has reportedly put the the file on hold and sought legal opinion on it. ESL, who is the common Governor of AP and Telangana post-bifurcation, has expressed doubts over the eligibility of Chittaranjan Das Biswal for the election commissioner's post and not singed on the file. It has created a new rift between Chandrababu and Narasimhan and they may seek Central Government's intervention on this.
