Anushka's "Size Zero" hit theatres across the world on Friday
The posters of the film have created a lot of buzz on the social networking sites and the makers of the film extensively promoted the film.
Anushka's Size Zero film appeared to be promising before its release and now we will see whether the film would reach audience's expectations.
Story:
Soundarya (Anushka Shetty) is a happy go lucky girl and works in a local Chinese food centre. She always faces pressures from her mother Rajeswari (Uravashi) who wants to get her daughter married. But Anushka gets rejected by several persons. Her mom always insists that Anushka to shed weight .
Anushka being fed up of rejection rejects alliance with an NRI and documentary film-maker Abhi (Arya). But they later become friends. Abhi gets close to an NRI hottie Simran (Sonal Chauhan) as part of a documentary on cleaning toilets.
Meanwhile, Anushka decides to join Size Zero Slimming Centre run by Satyanand (Prakash Raaj) to shed weight. But her friend suffers a serious disease due to different drugs given by the fitness centre.
What Anushka does to lose weight? Will Anushka get 'size zero'? How will she win Abhi's love? Watch the film on the big screen to find out the reasons.
Performances:
After periodic films like Rudramdevi and Baahubali, sweety Anushka has once again proved her mettle with Size zero. Anushka's expressions are good and perfectly fits in her role.
Anushka's effort to carry off such a role is laudable and she delivers a first rate and heartfelt performance. She plays the role of an obese lady like no other Tollywood heroine currently can and her hardwork is clearly seen in the film.
Arya's chemistry with Anushka is impressive and he has done a clean job by justifying his role. Sonal Chauhan walks off with the film in her small role.
Others including Nagarjuna, Lakshmi Manchu, Rana Daggubati, Hansika Motwani, Tamannaah, Jiiva and Bobby Simha are fine with their short cameos.
Analysis:
Music and background score of Keeravani is not that impressive. Editing could have been far better and the scenes are dragged in the second half. Production value of PVP cinema and the visual effects are good.
Lack of emotions and forced comedy fail to hold the attention of the audience. Though director comes with a different plot, it disappoints you with wafer-thin script and hardly any twists and turns in the film. Director tries his best to put lot of emotional scenes but they are inconceivable.
Anushka's efforts go waste in the film as the film cannot leave any impact on viewers' mind. Kobaribondam and Laddubabu films have also dealt with the same subject but Size zero is just little better than Laddubabu.
Anushka's performance and dialogues, Arya's chemistry with her and Sonal Chouhan's glamorous quotient are the only highlights of the film. Climax of the film also fails to create any curiosity.
