Gospadu (Kurnool): Principal Chief Conservator of Forests R G Kalghatgi has underlined the need to promote social forestry in a big way to check environmental pollution.

Speaking after inspecting a nursery raised at the Zilla Parishad High School at Deebaguntla village on Saturday, he said everyone should take up plantation of saplings as a social responsibility to increase the green cover.

Students should be involved in the social forestry programme to promote it as a mass movement, he said. Forest officer Yasodabai, FRO Subba Reddy, DRO Venkatarami Reddy, school headmaster Brahmam and others accompanied him.
