Swara Bhaskar to smoke in Anarkali Aarawali

Swara Bhaskar, who’s riding high on the success of her grand Diwali release, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, will be seen portraying a challenging character in her upcoming movie, Anarkali Aarawali.
Swara, who plays the title role of Anarkali, a local singer of live performances of lewd and double-meaning songs, had to come out of her comfort zone to shoot for a smoking sequence.
While shooting for the movie, Swara had to enact a scene in which she had to actually smoke a bidi. The versatile actress, who’s known to play her characters with great aplomb, even sat with Beedi smokers and learnt the technique of smoking bidi for several scenes.
Since Swara had never smoked before, she began to feel uneasy and fell sick and got respiratory problems. Not just smoking, the actress also had to eat paan for her character.
But being the professional that Swara is, she took up the challenge and performed her scenes effortlessly.
The movie producer Sandeep Kapoor of Prodome Films says, “It’s a delight to see Swara get deep into the character. She has spent time in Bihar to get a hang of language and the way people behave over there. Since her character smokes a bidi, she has been smoking bidis for some time, and now she is smoking bidis like a regular.”
