Khammam: Police officials arrested two persons from a shop at Aswaraopet mandal on Saturdy for trying to exchange fake currency notes. The accused were identified as Borathu Prashant and Karri Trinath Kumar, both residents of Jaggareddygudem village of Narsapur mandal of West Godavari.

According to the police, the duo was trying to exchange a fake currency note of Rs 1,000 note in a shop at Ashwaraopet by buying a few retail items. The shop owner suspected them and informed the police, who immediately went to the spot and took them into custody. They seized Rs 25,000 cash from them.

Prashant and Trinath Kumar met one Ch Srinivas Rao of Appalaraju Gudem of West Godavari district when they went to play cock fights. Srinivas Rao took Rs 5,000 original currency and gave them fake currency notes worth Rs 25,000.
