126 suspects held during search operation
In a massive cordon and search operation conducted at Begumpet and MS Maqtha to ensure public safety, as many as 80 suspects were detained by the Hyderabad city police, including eight Afghans on Saturday night.
Hyderabad: In a massive cordon and search operation conducted at Begumpet and MS Maqtha to ensure public safety, as many as 80 suspects were detained by the Hyderabad city police, including eight Afghans on Saturday night.The search operation which started at 10.30 am with over 450 policemen from all the police stations of West Zone concluded after three hours with detention of 126 persons including eight Afghans, four history sheeters and 73 persons from Bihar and Orissa.
As many as 96 bikes were recovered from the possession of the detainees for not having valid documents. Speaking after the operation, West Zone DCP A Venkateshwar Rao said, “Being in the highly sensitive zone where VIPs and VVIPs movement is more frequent, it has become a need to verify the background of people who are migrating and settling in the sensitive areas.”
