In a gesture of solidarity, the Movie Artistes’ Association (MAA) on Saturday announced Rs 5 lakh contribution towards relief works for the Chennai city which has been battered by flash floods. Speaking about it, MAA President Rajendra Prasad said, “Telugu film industry started off in Chennai and it supported us in all forms for establishing our base in Hyderabad. The Tamil actors even contributed last year when Hudhud cyclone devastated Visakhapatnam.
Our actors have already announced their contributions individually and we (MAA) stand by all the people of Chennai in this grief hour and are ready to partake in the relief operations.”
