New Delhi: Popular Telugu writer, Volga (P Lalita Kumari), bagged this year's prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award for her compilation of short stories ‘Vimuktha’. Volga was born in Guntur on November 27, 1950.
The Hyderabad-based writer is the popular voice for women and her works are a commentary on many pertinent issues plaguing the women in Indian society.
“I am particularly happy that the award came for ‘Vimukta’. Amongst my work, I like these stories the most, ” said Volga.
