Visakhapatnam: The city will be made a cultural centre, said HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao while inaugurating the Nedunuri Krishnamurthy Memorial Digital Music Library.
He unveiled the bronze statue of world famous Carnatic music exponent Nedunuri Krishnamurthy here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the digital library would be a great attraction to the music lovers and appreciated the efforts of Loknayak Foundation chairman and former Rajya Sabha MP Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad.
He said the World Telugu Museum located atop Kailasagiri Hills has become a ma major attraction for the tourists and the government was planning to construct Ravindra Bharati type auditorium at MVP Colony.
Rajya Sabha MP Dr T Subbarami Reddy, who donated Rs 1. 5 crore of his M PLAD funds for the renovation of Rajiv Smruthi Bhavan, which was ravaged by Hudhud cyclone, said the digital library was the best thing to come up in the city. Local MP Dr K Haribabu, Anakapalli MP M Srinivasa Rao and local MLAs were present on the occasion.
