Dell India, on Thursday, announced the city-level winner of Dell Champs-2016, a student outreach programme that emphasises the role of a personal computer in the process of learning. The programme is in line with Dell’s recently launched pan India PC for education initiative ‘Dell Aarambh’, which is based on the concept that a computer contributes to the all-round growth of a child.

Be it studies, entertainment, research or just browsing, students are now spending a lot of time with their technology companion. Dell Champs has been running successfully for the past 5 years. Under Dell Aarambh, the contest is extended to students of 20 more cities across the country for online participation.

The Dell Champs-2016 programme features an interactive technology based quiz contest that provides a unique platform for parents to participate with their child and be a partner in their achievement. The teams comprising a student and his parent or a sibling can compete for the title of Dell Champs-2016. The quiz contest is now being conducted in 2,000 schools in 45 cities across India for students of fifth, Sixth and Seventh classes.

A Rahul of Sri Vijnana Vihar English Medium School and his father A Venkat are the city level winning team this year. The team will represent Vijayawada in the national finals of the contest to be held in October. As many as 48 teams from 25 schools in Vijayawada participated in the contest.
