Minister for Water Resources Department (WRD) Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao and Minister for Excise Department Kollu Ravindra visited the ‘All India Inter-University Men and Women Archer Championship’, which was conducted at Hindu College grounds, Machlipatnam in Krishna district on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion Rao said that Krishna University has been conducting the event successfully. “The State government has preparing plans to provide international standard play fields which would be bigger than Hyderabad,” he said.

Ravindra said that for the first time traditional city Machlipatnam has witnessed 1,000 archers came across the country. “It is a proud moment for the city and the university,” he added.

Krishna University Vice-chancellor Prof S Rama Krishna Rao, Andhra Pradesh Archery Association secretary Cherukuri Satyanarayana, Municipal Chairman Baba Prasad and others attended.
