Deputy Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise B Aruna Rao on Sunday informed that their department officials had held 45 persons and destroyed 1,911 litres of country made liquor and 43,500 litres of jaggery found in a series of raids from December 1 to 15.

Rajamahendravaram: Deputy Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise B Aruna Rao on Sunday informed that their department officials had held 45 persons and destroyed 1,911 litres of country made liquor and 43,500 litres of jaggery found in a series of raids from December 1 to 15.

In a press release, the Deputy Commissioner informed that they had made extensive raids in the surrounding villages of Rajamahendravaram like Raghunadha Puram, Kalva Goyyi, Pidim Goyyi, Sriram Puram, Sri Krishna Patnam,Tungapadu, Punyakshetram, Venkatanagaram Lanka, Vemagiri Lanka, Seethanagaram, Gokavaram and Gonthivani Palem.

He also informed that they had seized seven vehicles and a 430 kgs of jaggery. They had arrested eight persons who were selling liquor illegally without any license and seized 14.58 litres of liquor from them.

Aruna Rao also said that they would take stringent action against these illegal liquor manufacturers and the kingpins behind these persons. He urged the public to inform them about the sales and manufacturing of the country made liquor to this number 0883-2447875.
