Kandukur: The Telugu Desam Party organized an Assembly constituency-level social media volunteers training programme at Prakasam Engineering College in Kandukur on Sunday. The party announced that it would be training about one lakh social media volunteers from 175 Assembly constituencies in the state in the next few weeks to counter opposition parties and popularize government programmes.

Speaking at the programme, Gottipati Harikrishna, social media in-charge of the Kandukur constituency said that it was required for every Assembly constituency to have a social media page on Facebook and a WhatsApp group to publicise the welfare programmes by the government.

He said that they were going to utilise social media as a bridge between the government and public.

He said that as per the ideology of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, they created powerful and responsible social media teams in each Assembly constituency in the state. “The party social media team would train about one lakh social media volunteers in the state to represent all Assembly constituencies and they work on the instructions from party headquarters,” he added.

The district social media in-charge, Singu Raja Narasimharao, local ZPTC Kancharla Srikanth and local social media volunteers participated in the programme.
