Kakinada: Garbage and detritus were accumulating everywhere in the Boat Club Park, alleged the Boat Club Walker’s Association president, Adabala Ratna Prasad here on Wednesday.

In a press release issued here, he alleged that due to the negligence of the corporation staff, all the saplings and the lawn were drying up. He informed that the motor was not working for the past 25 days and the corporation failed to repair it. He alleged that some walkers and the visitors to this park were vomiting because the unbearable stench that was coming from the fish pond.

He further informed that the auctioneer of the fish in the boat club pond are using chemicals, causing the stink. He said that the neighbours of the park were letting their drain water into this park and that the bad smell was emanating from the stagnated water on the walking track. He further urged the corporation staff that they should keep their concentration on the minimum needs of the urbanites, rather than concentrating on securing the ranks in the Swachh Survekshan.
