Rajamahendravaram: Mayor Pantham Rajani Sesha Sai has inspected bathing ghats in the city along with corporation officials, in connection with the ensuing Maha Sivaratri festival. The mayor directed the officials to clean Kotilingala Ghat, Chintalamma Ghat, Sraddnand Ghat, Pushkar Ghat, Padmavathi Ghat, Saraswathi Ghat, Gowthami Ghat etc. in the city immediately to avoid inconvenience to the pilgrims.

About two lakh pilgrims will take a holy dip in the River Godavari before going for darshan in connection with Maha Sivaratri, the mayor said. She asked the corporation officials to allot round-the-clock duties to the staff. Drinking water, dress changing rooms, first aid centres and high mast lights should also be arranged at all the bathing ghats, she said.

The mayor directed the officials to work with coordination to deliver good services to the tourists in right time and any lapses in this regard would be viewed seriously, she warned. Corporation Additional Commissioner NVV Satyanarayana, Superintending Engineer Om Prakash, health officer Dr MVR Murthi, deputy executive engineer M Veerabhadra Rao and other officials accompanied the mayor.
