Guntur: Former Minister and BJP leader Kanna Lakshminarayana said the Centre has allotted more funds to state than Karnataka and Tamil Nadu in the Union Budget 2018-19.

Speaking to media after addressing Mahila Morcha meeting held here on Thursday, he said though TDP had an alliance with the BJP, the former was using the situation for gaining  political mileage, he criticised. He accused the state of failing to submit a detailed project report for the construction of the state capital. “The TDP is not following ‘Mitra’ dharma,” he flayed.

He reminded that the Centre had allotted Rs 1 lakh crore worth projects to AP so far and it would give funds to the remaining projects in the days to come. He said that the Centre had allotted Rs 11,000 crore to Tamil Nadu, Rs 20,000 crore to Karnataka.

He said that the Centre had to fulfill the assurances mentioned in the State Bifurcation Act within 10 years and added, “We have another six years time to fulfill assurances given to AP.” He said that the Centre was giving funds for construction of Polavaram Project.
