Police take suspects into custody
Guntur Urban police took some persons into preventive custody as they were going to participate in ‘Chalo Vijayawada’ programme organised by some people\'s organisations on the occasion of ongoing state Assembly Budget session at Velagapudi on Thursday. According to the police, the suspected agitators were moving at check-post.
Guntur: Guntur Urban police took some persons into preventive custody as they were going to participate in ‘Chalo Vijayawada’ programme organised by some people's organisations on the occasion of ongoing state Assembly Budget session at Velagapudi on Thursday. According to the police, the suspected agitators were moving at check-post.
The police officials gave notices to some persons not to conduct such programmes which were prohibited taking security into consideration during budget session of the Assembly. The police officials had already banned conducting of dharnas and processions on the occasion of Assembly session.
Following instructions from Guntur Urban SP Ch Vijaya Rao, the Quick Reaction Team rushed to the spot and conducted frisking of vehicles. They took suspects into custody. Meanwhile, on the occasion of International Women's Day on Thursday, the police made elaborate security arrangements at Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s residence.
