Vijayawada: Assistant Commissioner of Police K Sravani has said at present female students have many opportunities to reach high positions in their profession.

She was chief guest at annual day function and International Women’s Day celebrations organised by the management of Vijaya Institute of Technology for Women on the college premises on Thursday. Addressing the students, the ACP said every student should have social consciousness. In order to build social consciousness, one should read journals and newspapers, she added.

Andhra Pradesh Electronics and Information Technology Agency (APEITA) CEO K Bhaskar Reddy explained the uses of electronics and infrastructure development. He acknowledged the importance and use of fiber grid and electronics industry on the occasion.

Principal Dr P Venkateswar thanked AP Skill Development Department for recognising the college as Skill Development Centre and also for providing placement assistance to MBA students in various companies. Engineering and MBA students of the college participated in extracurricular activities like literary events, games and sports, Rangoli, Mahendi, hair styling, debate, creative writing, throw ball, tennikoit, chess, caroms, tug of war, 100 meters sprint, 100 x 4 relay and shot-put.

The college secretary, BS Srikrishna and chief guest Sravani distributed the prizes to the winners. The management, all the department faculties, students and staff participated.
