Collector steals show in traditional attire
District Collector Kartikeya Mishra, participated in Ugadi celebrations as chief guest by wearing traditional dress of Telugus. City MLA Vanamadi Venkateswara Rao, MLC Chikkala Ramachandra Rao and Mayor Pavani also participated. Speaking on this occasion, Collector Mishra informed that this was the beginning of the New Year for Telugu people and hoped this year.
Kakinada: District Collector Kartikeya Mishra, participated in Ugadi celebrations as chief guest by wearing traditional dress of Telugus. City MLA Vanamadi Venkateswara Rao, MLC Chikkala Ramachandra Rao and Mayor Pavani also participated. Speaking on this occasion, Collector Mishra informed that this was the beginning of the New Year for Telugu people and hoped this year would bring success to all the people in the district.
Later, Pundits Kappagantula Chandra Sekhara Avadhani and Vakkalanka Sri Rama Krishnamma briefed Panchanga to the guests. They revealed the results of 12 Rasis during the New Year celebrations. Later, the Collector felicitated seven dignitaries who are distinguished in different fields.
Viswanadha Gopala Krishna Sastry (Literary Work), L Seshu Kumari (Conservation of Culture), Pullela Kondayya (Service to Art), Medisetti Ramachandra Rao (Farming), Karri Rama Reddy (Outstanding Intelligence), SRS Kolluri (Poetry) and P Dhatri (Sports) were received the Ugadi awards from the Collector. Prior to this, government music and dance school students performed the Kuchipudi style of dance and enthralled the audience.
