Chirala: The first and second year students of the second shift polytechnic department of the St Ann’s College of Engineering and Technology at Chirala conducted the farewell function, ‘Sayonara’ to the final year students on Thursday, said the college correspondent, S Lakshmana Rao.

Speaking to the students, the college principal Dr P Ravikumar said that the students must have a goal and work hard to achieve it. He asked the students to utilise the infrastructure at the college and improve practical knowledge with it. He asked the passing out students to never stop learning and start helping the needy when they were settled in life.

The college accreditations director Dr C Subbarao asked the students to utilise their edge of practical knowledge over the students from Intermediate and score more in higher studies. He requested them to improve knowledge and settle in better positions. The polytechnic deputy director Dr K Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy encouraged the students to pursue higher education and bring good name to the alma matter and parents.

The college management distributed prizes to the toppers in various branches and the 2nd year students presented mementoes to the 3rd year students. The students participated actively in the cultural programmes. The college administrative manager RV Ramanamurthy, HoDs and staff from all departments also participated in the function.
