Woman, daughter meet watery grave
A woman and her daughter met a watery grave when the boat in which they were sailing was hit by another boat carrying sand in Krishna river near Borupalem sand reach under Tullur police station limits on Saturday.
Guntur: A woman and her daughter met a watery grave when the boat in which they were sailing was hit by another boat carrying sand in Krishna river near Borupalem sand reach under Tullur police station limits on Saturday.
According to police, N Madhavi (26) and her daughter Kavya (3), along with another man, was sailing in the boat in Krishna river.
After going to some distance, another carrying sand hit their boat, three persons sailing in the boat drowned.
Madhavai and her daughter Kavya drowned. Another person was rescued by the locals.
On receiving information, police rushed to the post and retrieved the bodies with the help of swimmers.
Bodies were shifted to the government general hospital in Amaravati for conducting post-mortem.
Tullur police registered a case and took up investigation.
