Be ready to face flood challenge, officials told
Sub-Collector CM Saikanth Varma has directed the officials to ready to face any challenges during floods as there is rainfall in the catchment area of River Godavari.

Reviewing the preparedness of officials relating to flood at his office here on Thursday, he said that it was the duty of the respective officials to avoid human and property loss during flood and asked them to devise an action plan in this regard immediately.
The officials should also take preventive measures when second warning announced relating to the flood. Swimmers should also be ready and find out safe places to shift the people from low-lying areas.
He directed the officials to take hotline connections from BSNL for proper communication.
Officials of irrigation, revenue, police, Panchat Raj, fire, medical and health, electricity, etc should work together during flood.
He asked the officials of irrigation department to strengthen river bunds immediately to avoid breaches during floods.
