Several shipping companies and steamer agents operate from this area. Besides this, several shipping companies also have their warehousing facility in this road.
Because of this reason, trucks and other transport vehicles move day and night on this road for loading and unloading purposes.
This commercial activity provides revenue to both Kakinada port and to Municipal Corporation also.
Though the road has such importance, the maintenance has been under negligence for years together making it difficult for vehicular traffic.
When contacted over the dilapidated condition of this road, Mayor Sunkara Pavani said on Thursday that the road works have been proposed under smart city development activity and the works would be stated very soon.
