Guntur: Guntur Municipal Corporation additional commissioner P Ramachandra Reddy launched Domalapai Dandayatra programme here on Saturday.
Speaking on this occasion, he said that the GMC launched the programme to fight dengue and malaria. The GMC was observing every Saturday as dry and creating awareness on need to keep surroundings clean and check spread of malaria, dengue, chickungunya, brain fever and viral fevers.
He said that creating awareness on washing hands was also important. Holding placards, the students, took out a rally from Golusu Nancharamma High School via Naz Centre to create awareness among the public.
The students urged the people to take precautionary measures to check spread of viral diseases. GMC Public Health Officer Dr Sobha Rani, GMC officials were present.
