Kakinada: The BJP Kakinada city unit celebrated ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’ at Amar Jawan Memorial (Kargil memorial) near Zilla Parishad centre in the city on Thursday.
Party city unit president P Ravi Kiran while paying rich tributes for those who fought for the country, said that July 26 stands as symbol of patriotism and sacrifices of Indian armed forces.
These brave soldiers fought for 90 days in the year 1999 and achieved the victory over the forces which tried to sneak into Indian territory, he said.
BJP district unit president Y Malakondayya attended as guest for the programme.
Party 36th division corporator Lakshmi Prasanna leaders Ch Pavan, Satyam and party activists in larger numbers attended.
