Ongole: Prakasam District Collector Vadarevu Vinay Chand launched the Amrutha Health Cards here on Monday. The Amrutha Health Cards are introduced by the Government of Andhra Pradesh through the Dr NTR Vaidyaseva Trust for the welfare of the orphan children taking shelter in the Sisuvihar, Children Home and other orphanages.

Joint Collector S Nagalakshmi, Additional Joint Collector D Markandeyulu also distributed the cards to the orphan children. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector appreciated the services by the Dr NTR Vaidyaseva Trust and its coming forward offering the Amrutha Health Cards to the deprived children.

The trust coordinator in the district Dr T Rajesh Kumar said that they were distributing the health cards to 138 children taking shelter in the orphanages and identified by the ICDS officials in the district. He announced that with the card, these children are able to get free treatment for 1044 diseases in the network hospitals across the state.

The DMHO Dr Rajyalakshmi, ICDS PD P Sarojini, Dr NTR Vaidyaseva district manager K Naveen, DCPO N Jyothi and representatives of Sarah Convent Home also participated in the launch event.
