Amaravati: The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), under the Union Ministry of Power, is all set to sign an agreement with the AP Capital Regional Development Authority (APCRDA) to provide support in building green constructions in Amaravati.

During a five-day International Symposium to promote innovation and research in energy efficiency (INSPIRE-2017) in Jaipur in Rajasthan, BEE director general Abhay Bhakre announced that the BEE was in favour of entering into an agreement with the CRDA on building green constructions in Amaravati.

Principal Secretary for Energy Ajay Jain invited BEE to establish an energy efficiency research and development lab in AP. He revealed that AP plans to invest Rs 16,349 crore for developing world class power infrastructure in Amaravati, for which he requested INSPIRE to provide the best practices in the areas of energy efficiency.

All the representatives of global organisations have responded in positive to the suggestion. Recognizing the pro-public approach on energy efficiency (EE) and conservation of AP, globally prominent players in EE evinced keen interest to support Amaravati by imparting technology to enhance EE and also to make Amaravati a green city.

In a press release, AP State Energy Efficiency Corporation Ltd (APSEEDCO) chief executive officer and managing director A Chandra Sekhar Reddy said the world famous organizations for energy efficiency such as American Council of Energy Efficiency Economy, The World Bank (US),

International Energy Agency (Paris), TERI appreciated AP for implementing EE measures, which resulted annual energy savings of 1,781Million Units and monetary savings of Rs 982 Crores besides carbon dioxide reduction of 1.35 MT.
