In all, 1,000 Buddhists arroved at Dhyana Buddha Project at Amaravati  in  Guntur district here on Sunday from across different countries. They had a glimpse of 125 feet Dhyana Buddha idol at Maha Chaitanyam and paid a visit to museum.

Heritage city chief executive officer Eemani Siva Nagi Reddy explained about the heritage city and steps taken by the government to develop Amaravati to attract tourists. He explained about significance of Buddhist sites at Nagarjunakonda, Ghantasala, Kuchipudi and other places and Kala Chakramaha Yagam conducted by the government.
