Hyderabad: YSR Congress has said that 2017 has ended as a year of growing atrocities on women with unabated violence and harassment at the hands of ruling TDP leaders while Chandrababu Naidu has shown his full-blown indifference towards women as is his wont.
Though the calendars have been changing the fate of the women has not been changing and the promise of closure of illegal cheap liquor shops, belt shops, did not materialse bringing in domestic violence and discord and the woes of women spiraled with Chandrababu Naidu government encouraging sale of liquor and increase of liquor outlets across the state to fill the state coffers besides permitting them to operate past midnight.
The promised DWACRA loan waiver was Rs 14, 204 crores which would be hardly 1 % of the irregularities under various projects, but the state did not yield as it has no concern for women and their welfare, she said.
The Rs 10,000 promised to pregnant women did not see light of the day and his promise of depositing Rs 30,000 for girl child born the state did not take off which is a shameful act and shows the concern they have for women and their welfare, she said.
Chandrababau Naidu has promised smart phones to women and a GPS tracking system to contain the atrocities against women and that became an empty promise. If any woman goes to the police station to lodge a complaint she is being discouraged and sent back and the recent incident in Ananthapur district where TDP leader Payyavula Kesavulus followed had assaulted a woman shows their intent with clarity.
The recent incident of disrobing a dalit woman in Pendurthi mandal of Visakhaptanam district by the followers of TDP leader Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy to the suicide of of a student Ritikeshwari, attack on MRO Vanajakshi and numerous other incidents clearly show that women are getting a raw deal and are not getting justice.
Even the daughter of TDP MP Siva Prasad has been a victim, she said adding that the day comes when the women force would teach TDP a fitting lesson.
