Kurnool: Spouse of a deceased woman, Kamatham Lalitakumari, who went to Kuwait in search of work 21years ago, sought the government help to receive her mortal remains at Hanumanthugudem in the district as he is unable to bring the remains on his own citing poor financial condition.

She passed away in Kuwait on January 4 this year. She is survived by husband Bhaskar and two sons, residents of Hanumanthugudem in Kolimigundla mandal of Kurnool district.

As she hailed from Jammalamadugu, Kadapa District Collector received a communication from Indian Embassy in Kuwait seeking her family’s clarification on how to dispose of her mortal remains—whether to bury the mortal remains in Kuwait or forward them to Andhra Pradesh. As Authorities had failed to trace her parents in Jammalamadugu, the letter was forwarded to Kurnool district to trace her husband.

Kolimigundla Tahsildar Jayarami Reddy traced her husband Bhaskar in Hanumanthugudem and showed the letter to him. Bhaskar sought the government help to bring her body to the state. The Tahsildar assured Bhaskar to take the matter to the notice of the District Collector.
