Service tax evasion case against Sai Concrete Pavers Vizag booked
Based on intelligence, the officers of Directorate General of Central Excise Intelligence, Hyderabad booked a case of evasion of service tax against M/s Sai Concrete Pavers Pvt. Ltd. Visakhapatnam who is engaged in providing Works Contract Service.
Hyderabad: Based on intelligence, the officers of Directorate General of Central Excise Intelligence, Hyderabad booked a case of evasion of service tax against M/s Sai Concrete Pavers Pvt. Ltd. Visakhapatnam who is engaged in providing Works Contract Service.
Verification revealed that the company billed and collected more than Rs. 2 Crores as service tax but retained such Service Tax and used the government revenue for their personal use. Such diversion of service tax collected was done under the knowledge of the Managing Director of the Company, who was arrested on February 06, 2016 and was produced before the 1st Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Visakhapatnam on February 06, 2016 and the Hon’ble Court remanded him to judicial custody for 14 days. The case is under further investigation, informed S.N. Saha, Principal Additional Director General, Central Excise Intelligence.
