MLA promises pucca houses, power for poor

Rajahmundry: Pucca houses would be sanctioned for all poor families in the State, Rajahmundry rural MLA Gorantla Butchaiah Choudary said here on Sunday.
He launched Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana at Konthamuru village in Rajahmundry rural mandal. As part of the scheme, electricity connections were given to 124 households at only Rs 125. In addition to electricity connections, electricity metres, service lines and LED bulbs were also distributed to the beneficiaries. Speaking on the occasion, Gorantla said government is spending Rs 10 lakh to provide electricity connections for all houses in the village.
He directed the officials to acquire land for sub-station in the village. He also instructed the residents of Kotha colony not to construct houses as the government is planning to construct houses along with toilets for them. He also assured the people of clearing encroachments in the village.
